Chamunda Sadhana

Chamunda, or Chandi, is the root of Tantra, a fierce energy of transformation. She brings movement toward liberation through a "Re-incarnation" process and naked awareness. Chamunda hold the rasa, or blood, of Shakti, specifically of Kali as the manifestation of form. She brings us to the source and demands that we recognize and end the interactions that arise from perceptions of duality. Chandi tears across thoughts, slays the ego, holds us to see where we are deceived by our perceptions and their ensuing identities. By returning us to our primordial state of deep listening and observation, She frees us from our patterns of obstructed behavior. Here, we resonate with the spanda present at conception that holds the consciousness of the union of Shiva and Shakti.

Chandi nyasa is a powerful vibrational practice that places the navarna mantra in the body in a precise way that loosens the knots, or grantis, that obstruct the access and communication of our physical, subtle, and astral bodies. The three grantis through which the mantra is circulated, the rudra, vishnu and brahma grantis, are at energetic intersections of the layers or spheres of our energetic bodies.. When the grantis are tied, we are bound in samsara, tied to personality and patterns of behavior, unwilling to experience anything beyond our known. In the precise way the nyasa provides of moving energy through the body and loosening these grantis, we open the ability to access huge stores of information, creativity, intuition, compassion, knowledge. We see where we are obscured, reactive and habitual. Touching nature of mind, which is cultivated by the practice, reveals where it is we engage in interactions that are rooted in perceptions of duality. The practice gives us the power to burn through these perceptions once they are recognized, freeing energy to serve a greater purpose then the needs of the "identified" self. As the grantis are loosened by the circulation of the mantra in the body, the capacity to access and exist in all layers of the physical, subtle and astral body is increased. This fosters an expansive, responsive space that can provide the correct atmosphere for Kundalini energy to awaken and potentially arise, revealing the absolute state of pure consciousness, Shiva and Shakti unified. We are returned to the source.

On a holistic level, as the purifying and releasing vibrations of the mantra move through vital areas of the body, tremendous healing occurs to the heart and organs of the digestive and reproductive systems. The body begins to restore its natural state of health and balance as the sustained vibrations of the mantra heal and cleanse the organs of toxins and stress that have been accumulated by physical or emotional trauma.
